MFIS Educators' Conference: Mental Health and Anxiety in the Classroom with Dr. Lara Ragpot

This year’s MFIS Educators’ Conference focuses on one of the most pressing challenges facing schools today: supporting student mental health. Led by Dr. Lara Ragpot, an expert in child development and educational psychology, this conference will explore practical, evidence-based approaches for recognizing, understanding, and responding to anxiety in students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Participants will gain deeper insight into how anxiety affects learning and behaviour, as well as strategies educators can use to create calm, supportive, and responsive classroom environments. The session will equip teachers and EAs with tools to foster emotional well-being, reduce stress, and help students feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn.
